Junior Web Developer with an Entrepreneurial flare

About Luke,

I’m an ambitious Junior Web Developer currently honing my abilities in London. I am business minded with an eye for detail and a logical approach in everything I do. I have a great deal of experience in customer facing environments, enjoy speaking to clients and I thrive within a driven team. I'm also a quick learner, having developed the core of my coding skills in an intensive environment over a 3 month period (750+ hrs).

Experience

I am currently working in my first junior web development position at Adludio - based in Farringdon. The company is a highly successful tech startup positioned in the mobile marketing sphere. They have won several awards for innovation and their pinoneering use of "Sensory Advertising".

My first task was to completely rebuild their website which in turn lead into me utilising their besoke Cyan platform in order to create moving video for the protfolio pages in the site. Following this I transitioned to help build sensory adverts for our clients such as the SkyQ Captain America advert for Sky and Marvel. I then worked on their dashboard and demo pages tasked to improve the UX and general appearance.

To date:
- Rebuilt and maintaining www.adludio.com
- Created active ad units with bespoke internal platform (Cyan)
- Refactored / redesigned client facing demo platform

I discovered GA after designing my own websites for previous businesses, and then building sites for small companies as a side project alongside my non-tech job. I loved the challenge and reward coding provided, and was attracted to the multitude of opportunities a career in tech offered. I identified General Assembly as an industry leader in coding boot camps, and have just completed the 3 month Web Development Immersive Course.

Fundamentally the course is designed to teach you how to approach coding with a developers logic and mindset. It requires self-sufficiency for continued learning, ensuring you are equipped to continue staying up to date with new languages and frameworks as required. The technologies I learnt included: HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, NodeJS, AngularJS, AJAX, Ruby, Rails, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Express and Sinatra. We also covered programming fundamentals, best practice, pair programming, SCRUM, agile development, TDD, CRUD and RESTful structures. The course included producing four main projects, which are outlined below and can be found on my GitHub.
